A commercial installation is considered when the total energy output is greater than that of 70kw. Domestic boilers have a varying range of energy output up to 70kw. Providing the output is 70kw, it is classed as a domestic installation. However greater than 70kw, is classes as a commercial installation.
It is also important to note, that even if you have two boilers connected to the same system and they are only 45kw each for example, the total output is 90kw. Thus, exceeding 70kw for a single domestic installation. The system would then become a commercial installation.
Degradation and deterioration in performance does occur in commercial boilers, despite ongoing maintenance and regular servicing. With the occurrence of degradation in components, the cost of running a commercial boiler system may increase. In addition to this, some older commercial installations cost more to run, than newer and more efficient ones.
Older models of commercial boiler systems often become more difficult to maintain and subsequently service. In addition to this, the sourcing of parts and components compatible with older systems may be difficult to source. Not to mention more costly. With a new commercial boiler system, the chances of regular breakdowns are greatly reduced with operating efficiency increased.
The energy required to power commercial boilers are often far greater than newer models with a more efficient operating design. With a new commercial boiler, the improvement in your EPC (Energy Performance Certificate) rating will be increased. Thus, significantly reducing the overall energy consumption of your system.
New commercial boiler designs consider the operating requirements of temperature controls in the system. With new technology installed in these systems, the precision and control of regulated temperatures in different areas of your property is vastly increased. You no longer need to power energy into an area that does not require it.
